Pasture Island

You're the sheepdog and the shepherd. Swap between them to keep a small flock on an island, one season at a time.

A cosy farm game for one. Free to try in your browser.

The sheep pen from above, a black-and-white flock packed inside the fence

Run the grass. Bunch the flock.

Press anywhere on the island and the dog runs there. Sheep bolt from it, bunch together and settle. One big bark a season pulls a scattered flock back into a knot.

A stone house and a red timber barn beside the corner of the sheep pen

Then swap to the shepherd.

Sheep step aside for him and never fear him. He swings the gate, shears the flock, carries the wool to the barn and sows the grass they will eat next month.

The merchant's green-roofed stall and cart by the wooden jetty on the island's shore

Four seasons, one boat, one merchant.

Sell the wool when the dawn boat docks, then spend the coins at the stall if you catch it open: seed, winter hay, a collar for the dog, a taller fence. The trees turn and winter comes, hay in or not.

The island's rocky hill under a cool grey-blue mist

Some nights, the fog comes in.

A dusk forecast warns you. Sheep stray into the mist and hide until dawn, and the only way to find them is the dog's nose: small warm lights drifting toward the lost one. On fox nights, something waits at the edge of the trees.

Rather keep it calm? Peaceful mode leaves the fox out.
